A Learning I Will Go...

Nothing like learning and exploration to get the creative juices flowing... and now is a good time to step outside the comfort-zone box that was becoming more like quicksand. I can't wait to start the "Altered Fabric Book" online workshop that I'm signed up for - through Creative Workshops . I wasn't familiar with Nellie Wortman's work but for quite some time I've wanted to use more layers of lace, fabrics and vintage photos - and add book-making to my repertoire. One look at her blog - Early Morning Thoughts - and I was hooked. A few years before we were married, Jim gave me a sewing machine for Christmas. I was a bit puzzled; though my mother is a lifelong, expert seamstress, I hadn't done any sewing aside from the very... creative skirt I made in high school home ec class.
