Journal covers, box lids, giant puzzle pieces and, of course, canvas, all fair game when it comes to mixing up the media. I have felt myself growing and stretching, almost on a cellular level, as an artist and it's exhilarating and feels a little frantic at the same time. Frantic because I don't have the hours to produce the ideas that surge through my brain, and exhilarating because, well that should be obvious.

I was just visiting Nicole over on Beadwright and wow, I admire her ability to post nearly every day. Especially since she has lupus, an autoimmune nightmare that, like mine, steals her precious time and energy and dumps them into some toxic, useless wasteland. But she doesn't let that stop her from saying hello; I feel like I need to have loads of new work to post but I suppose that isn't the point. The reason I know that is because I have met SO many wonderful, incredible artists who commiserate, support and come back to visit.

Bloggers like (Bluebeard and) Elizabeth at the Altered Book Lover, who posted to let me know she was going to feature my little space on hers. She likes my art and said she finds my blog inspiring - that's the magic word.
My main mission in this lifetime is to appreciate the depth and beauty in others, to connect in a meaningful way that sparks a smile, memory or sense of kindred spirit. Now that is what blogging is really about! May your day be blessed.

Hey Patti
I esp. love the cover/art with the balloons? Your textures speak for themselves and you should be very happy with your work. I hope that i will get to see a couple of these when you come to Saluda. A whole suitcase full? Just a couple will be fine although touching each one would be grand!
see you soon

your journals are just lovely! i adore them! i have some more here that i've been meaning to make, but i haven't gotten that far yet. one of these days, perhaps.

i've just sent you two emails (one right while you were commenting on my blog, ironically). i wanted to let you know here since you haven't received many of my recent emails and i don't want them to slip through the cracks. we must figure out what's been going on here!

many big hugs to you, sweet friend!

oh, and giant puzzle pieces -- want some? have been spending the past week cleaning the heck out of this place and have a box full of small, medium and large puzzle pieces from the wee man who likes to lose half the box and try to fit it with something totally different. "an altered puzzle" he said. i was just going to recycle the majority of what he wasn't going to use as we have way too much fun stuff around here. unless you were speaking more figuratively about giant puzzle pieces , of course. ;)

I know so well that feeling of having so many ideas you just to explode and it's so frustrating not being able to express it all. Friendships through our blogs are life gifts for sure- and all of the support and inspiration and appreciation is more than amazing!! Thanks for sharing all your thoughts today!

These and the journals below are stunning! I'm loving all the layered textures you're getting. What are your favorite tools/texture mediums to use? I think I see a bit of sequin waste, screening and ???

I'm always so happy when I stop over to see what you've been up to.
Your work is delcious and yes INSPIRATIONAL :-)
I feel we benefit one another, here in the land of blog, when we gently support the fallow times just as much as we do the overflowing banks...we need them all and everything in between.

Be well as you nurture that joyful artist soul.
