Waiting...

Waiting seems to be a very popular pastime these days, though it wasn't the motivation for this piece... I keep saying I'm going to change my 'look' and here is another in that series of color and style. I do, though, feel as though I'm evolving. Maybe waiting to evolve?
It's one of my favorite collages and Cassie likes it too because when I showed it to her she said, "I have to have this - let's go to the frame shop as soon as I get back." That, of course, was before the back stuff with Jim; I hope she still wishes to purchase it, I'll wait and see.
Nothing like a kink in the works to put your priorities in order. I'm so far behind in every area, sadly with my Life is a Verb coaching class, although I feel the effects profoundly. Prior to this, very deep and life-altering work, I would not have gotten through the past couple of weeks without anxiety, fear, maybe a bit of depression, and definitely feeling overwhelmed.
Always being in choice, letting go of what I can't control, focusing on what is really true... those are among the many earlier lessons that created a foundation for the work we're doing now, which is the transformative, path-finding work.
But still, it's not fun to look around at the extraordinarily high mountains of unfolded laundry, all the projects I hadn't finished before Jim hurt his back and now the calendar... yikes! I have a few more journals to make for the client who ordered 8 way back in October at that Gallery Hop.
I'm having great fun with them. And enjoying the rewards of the art exchange I entered. It seemed very hectic at the time, but it's amazing, beyond words to receive art from across the world, artists I don't know, some that I do... Nothing better than art mail! In a few days I'll start posting some of my goodies.
So I'll wait for some more to arrive... come to think of it, how many times and occasions are we in that stasis, limbo, sliver of time between the now and what is going to be, what we're hoping for... I think I'll forget about the laundry, do my coaching assignment and go to bed! There's no waiting for sleep:)

Your collage is wonderful. I'm looking forward to seeing your artmail. Did you recieve a piece from Renna yet. She posted it a couple of weeks ago. A good fried and an amazingly talented young lady x

I like this piece too. The colors. The circles. The leaf shape stamped with handwritng. Do you feel like you are in a rut? Try a different medium. Collage a bottle or the reverse of a glass plate. I played with metal and that has made all the difference.

Wish I lived closer... I would bring you a half stack of old suitcases to cheer you. :)

Sorry about Jim's (husband?) back. My DH is suffering with a bulged disc made worst by a fall (backwards off a four wheeler- he still kicks himself for his stupidity). Pain killers don't touch the discomfort. Nerve pills make him dopey and unable to drive or work (he has a physical job), so he doesn't take as many as he should. Our insurance is balking at the surgery his doc recommends because it is considered experimental by some insurances (most, it seems).
We muddle through. And I continue to dream of making a living selling on etsy...

But understand what you are going through.

Hi Patti
I've admired your work for quite some time and I always enjoy seeing your response to Karin's amazing entries.
Thank you so much for stopping over to have a look see...I so appreciate that.
And Yessss...it will be fabulous to see my darling soul sister and her sweet husband as she faces the next chapter of her shamanic journey.

As you say so eloquently in your current post:
Always being in choice, letting go of what I can't control, focusing on what is really true... those are among the many earlier lessons that created a foundation for the work we're doing now, which is the transformative, path-finding work.

On we go...helping one another to transform.
I really do enjoy this piece, Patti. As Tom Petty says, "The waiting is the hardest part..."

ohhh Patti, keep making art that looks like Your Style! it is wonderful! the minute it came up, I thought it was your work!
congratulations on the tough work! spiritual work always slows us down a bit, I have found. so don't fret about being behind. the one thing I found out doing this work is that there is no race! the only limits I have are the ones I set for myself! I know that you are going to catch up! sending you love and happy vibes!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxxox cat

Hi Patti! So glad to hear that the Art Exchange is rewarding you so richly. I must thank you for your patience with me; I may add to that it has been such a pleasure to meet some of your close bloggy (and some not so bloggy) friends! I have received some really beautiful things from each of them!

I would like to apologise, too, for not getting back to you about your friend in Bulls. I would be more than happy to send her one of my cards! Free of charge, too! Just name the one you want me to address to her and it's yours/hers!

Love Debs

Wishing I had found this post a few days ago. Get so bogged with my own pursuits and I forget the concerns my friends face.

I sincerely hope that you DID take time AWAY from the laundry to pursue where your heart was leading. I know that I only recently stated something similiar on a blog post but never did get to what I had dreamed of, spoken of.

Your waiting piece is fabulous! I totally adore it. I agree with a previous commenter. If you are comfortable with this style, these colours, then hold them closely. Certainly they will evolve. There will be a time when some other thoughts, hues, spirits guide you.

Hmmm ~ sounds like you need a really good tickle - only gentle of course.

May the angels guide you on your path. Let them carry you when you feel lost and uncertain.

Hugs and blessings,
Wendy
