ice and snow

After 36 hours of ice and snow, we've got quite an accumulation - here's a view from the window seat in the Altered Attic, a cozy place to be. Unfortunately, the cherry tree may be a total loss. Fortunately, DH moved his vehicle out of the path of the limb that ended up crashing to the ground later in the morning.

The kids have been out of school all week and I haven't had much studio time but I'm working on my Visual Journal, learning how to doodle!

This storm is widespread - leave me a comment and let me know how it's looking where you are!

Patti, Patti, Patti, you did get hit didn't you. So did my daughter in Columbus Ohio. Mostly snow there with a little ice.
Looks like "the altered attic" is the place to be. brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I have just finished my post for today, which is all about the weather. Lots of pictures, so you can see what it's like in northern Kentucky. I'm sure your kids must be having fun bugging you to death!

Missy and I got out in the snow today! We shot some beautiful images at a horse farm. Enjoy and hope to see you soon.

Patti, Reporting from the other side of the continent, it is in the 70s in Los Angeles today, high 30s, low 40s overnight (which we thin-blooded types find cold). My friends in Cleveland feel as though this may be the year that spring simply doesn't show up. Haven't heard back from Cape Cod and what you have now passed through Colorado the other day. Hardy souls, all of you. P.S. I love the Emerson quote you have up and feel there is boldness in taking us along with you on your visual journal adventure.

So sorry you may have lost your cherry tree :( The view is quite a sparkly wonderland though!
Here outside if NYC, we had a few inches of snow, followed by ice, followed by showers, followed by more ice... Nasty mess. My husband's office even closed early, which was the one upside!
Stay warm, and be well,

Hi Patti, it looks like that here in Cincy too, of course. I'm getting pretty weary of all this arctic cold, myself. We did lose our power. but only for about 30 hours. Your view is very nice, however.
